Assessment
Pre-operative behavioral health
assessment is an integral and necessary part of preparing
for bariatric surgery. This assessment can help identify
the strengths and resources of the individual seeking surgery,
can prepare for any psychosocial risk factors that need
attention, and can provide recommendations to address possible
adjustment concerns.
The comprehensive assessment covers
the areas of behavior, emotions, thoughts, development,
current life stressors, motivation, and individual expectations.
